The client uses advanced data integrations to deliver truly best-in-class automotive solutions, helping dealers, OEMs, and mobility providers to optimise sales and aftersales performance, sustainably boosting retention and profitability. They specialise in automotive support to optimise every aspect of the customer journey, with seamless integration of solutions across data management, cleansing, predictive marketing, lead prioritisation and customer experience.
However, to secure a significant RFP win, they needed to scale their operations threefold and enhance the functionality of their 15+ year-old legacy platform. The challenges they faced included the platform’s lack of flexibility to support new requirements, hindering its competitiveness in the market, and its monolithic architecture, which embedded logic in stored procedures, making upgrades difficult and slowing time to market. Additionally, fragmented data spread across multiple databases and servers created performance bottlenecks. To address these issues, they turned to Godel’s Advisory services for support in evaluating and refining their product development roadmap.
[Our approach]
Godel held a series of workshop sessions with internal development teams, working collaboratively to identify potential enhancements to data management, analytics and network structuring. Godel assessed the myriad of information collected of the current solution and conducted a risk evaluation for the tender, followed by an overview of the proposed ‘To Be’ architecture. A detailed transformation plan was developed to guide the transition from the legacy system to the new architecture, with a focus on data architecture improvements. Godel also provided a list of prioritised recommendations, highlighting quick wins through an effort-value matrix, and offered suggestions for cost optimisation. Additionally, a backlog for development was created at the Epic level, alongside options for delivery and roadmap planning. A plan for future team setup, covering FTEs, skillsets, and focus areas was also outlined to support long-term success.
[Outcomes]
Godel provided valuable recommendations on improving efficiencies and accelerating product time-to-market, significantly shaping the product roadmap. The Advisories team’s strategic plan was embraced by the client’s management, offering a clear path for both immediate fixes and long-term upgrades. Quick wins were swiftly implemented by the in-house team, addressing critical issues before the consultancy engagement concluded. A key factor in the outcome of the plan was how Godel presented its findings to both the client’s technical teams and senior stakeholders, actively engaging and aligning both audiences throughout the process.
